Who we are
This website, the-hillary.com, is run by The Hillary LLC (Hillary Scott), based in Chandler, Arizona. When this policy says "we," "us" or "I," it means The Hillary. If you have a question about your information, email hello@the-hillary.com or call 623.277.8982.
What information do we collect?
What you give us
You only share personal information when you choose to fill out a form or reach out:
- Contact form: your name, email, phone (optional), whether you want a reply or a free call, the best times to call you, and your message.
- Quizzes (like "Do you need a Hillary?" and the business chaos quiz): your quiz answers and result. If you choose to get your result by email, we also collect your first name, email, business name (optional), phone (optional) and whether you want The Hillary Weekly newsletter.
- Email, phone calls and texts: whatever you include when you contact us directly.
Please don't send passwords, account numbers, Social Security numbers or health information through this website.
What is collected automatically
Like most websites, this site uses analytics tools that collect information about your visit: your IP address, general location (city level), device and browser type, the pages you view, how long you stay, what you click, and the site that sent you here. When you finish a quiz, we also save an anonymous record of your answers and result (with no name or email) so we can see how the quizzes are used.
How do we use it?
- To answer your questions, schedule calls and send quotes
- To provide the services you hire us for
- To email you your quiz result when you ask for it
- To send The Hillary Weekly, only if you checked the box to get it
- To understand how people use the site so we can make it better
- To measure whether our marketing and ads are working
- To keep the site and its forms safe from spam and abuse
Who do we share it with?
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help run the business, and only what they need to do their job:
- Hostinger hosts this website and stores form submissions.
- Our email provider delivers form messages and the emails we send you.
- Google Analytics and Google Search Console show us how people find and use the site.
- Microsoft Clarity shows us where people click and scroll, using heatmaps and session recordings. Clarity is set up to hide what you type into forms.
- Cloudflare Turnstile checks that forms are sent by real people, not bots.
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone's safety, or as part of a sale or merger of the business.
Cookies and tracking
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. This site uses:
- A session cookie that keeps forms working and secure. It is deleted when you close your browser.
- Google Analytics cookies that count visits and tell new visitors from returning ones.
- Microsoft Clarity cookies that connect the pages you view during a visit.
- Cloudflare Turnstile, which may use cookies or similar technology to tell people from bots.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the site will still work. You can also stop Google Analytics from collecting your visits with the Google Analytics opt out add-on, and manage the ads Google shows you in Google Ad Settings. This site does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals.
Text messages
If you text us, we use your number only to reply to you and help with your request. We don't send marketing texts unless you ask for them, and you can reply STOP at any time to stop texts. Message and data rates may apply. Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Emails and The Hillary Weekly
We only add you to The Hillary Weekly if you check the box to get it. Every issue has an unsubscribe link, or you can email hello@the-hillary.com and we'll take you off the list. Even after you unsubscribe, we may still email you about work we're doing together.
How long do we keep it?
We keep your information as long as we need it for the reason you gave it to us, such as working together or following up on your question, and as long as tax and business records require. After that, we delete it. Google Analytics deletes its visit data automatically after no more than 14 months.
How do we protect it?
The whole site runs on a secure HTTPS connection. Our forms have spam and abuse protection, and only The Hillary and the people helping with your request can see what you send. No website is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to keep your information safe.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- Tell you what information we have about you
- Correct anything that's wrong
- Delete your information
- Stop sending you marketing emails or texts
Email hello@the-hillary.com and we'll take care of it. If you live in a state with its own privacy law (such as California), you may have more rights, and you can use them the same way. We won't treat you differently for asking.
Children
This site is for business owners and is not meant for children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children. If you think a child has sent us information, email us and we'll delete it.
Links to other websites
This site links to other websites, like our social media pages, client websites in our portfolio and the tools mentioned above. We don't control those sites, so please read their privacy policies too.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date at the top.
